Continuing the scholarly and cultural efforts to translate and republish the enduring heritage of Allamah M\u012br \u1e24\u0101mid \u1e24usayn Lucknaw\u012b in the Indian subcontinent, the sixth volume of the \u201cN\u016br al-Anw\u0101r; Translation of \u02bfAbaq\u0101t al-Anw\u0101r\u201d collection, in Urdu and focusing on \u201cHadith al-Manzilah,\u201d has been published.<\/p>\n
This work has been translated into Urdu by Mawl\u0101n\u0101 Sayyid Shuj\u0101\u02bfat \u1e24usayn Razav\u012b Gop\u0101lp\u016br\u012b, and al-Ras\u016bl Publications in Gop\u0101lpur, Siwan District, Bihar State, India, has undertaken its publication. According to the information printed on the book\u2019s cover, the translator is one of the seminary scholars and Urdu-speaking preachers and holds the title \u201cMumt\u0101z al-Af\u0101\u1e0dil W\u0101\u02bfi\u1e93.\u201d<\/p>\n
The present book is the sixth volume of the \u201cN\u016br al-Anw\u0101r\u201d collection; a collection compiled with the aim of conveying parts of the monumental book \u201c\u02bfAbaq\u0101t al-Anw\u0101r f\u012b Im\u0101mat al-A\u02beimmah al-A\u1e6dh\u0101r\u201d into Urdu. In the available online catalogs, the five previous volumes of this collection are listed as Hadith al-Thaqalayn in two volumes, Hadith al-Saf\u012bnah, Hadith al-Tashb\u012bh, and Hadith al-N\u016br. With the publication of the section on Hadith al-Manzilah, the number of volumes in this collection has reached six.<\/p>\n
\u02bfAbaq\u0101t al-Anw\u0101r is one of the most important theological works on the subject of Imamate and among the most prominent writings of Allamah M\u012br \u1e24\u0101mid \u1e24usayn M\u016bsav\u012b Lucknaw\u012b. This book was written in response to the section on Imamate in the book \u201cTu\u1e25fah-yi Ithn\u0101 \u02bfAshariyyah,\u201d and in it, the author, making extensive use of the hadith, rij\u0101l, historical, exegetical, and theological sources of the Sunnis, examined the chains of transmission and indications of the hadiths related to Imamate and the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). One of the characteristics of Allamah M\u012br \u1e24\u0101mid \u1e24usayn\u2019s methodology is the separation of discussions concerning the chain of transmission and indication, and argumentation on the basis of the sources and rules accepted by the opposing audience.<\/p>\n
The new volume of \u201cN\u016br al-Anw\u0101r\u201d is devoted to the famous Hadith al-Manzilah; a hadith in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), addressing Am\u012br al-Mu\u02bemin\u012bn (peace be upon him), says: \u201c\u0623\u0646\u062a\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0651\u06cc \u0628\u0650\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0632\u0644\u0629\u0650 \u0647\u0627\u0631\u0648\u0646\u064e \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652 \u0645\u064f\u0648\u0633\u06cc\u060c \u0625\u0644\u0651\u0627 \u0623\u0646\u0651\u0647 \u0644\u0627 \u0646\u064e\u0628\u06cc\u0651 \u0628\u064e\u0639\u062f\u06cc\u201d; that is, your position in relation to me is the same as the position of H\u0101r\u016bn in relation to M\u016bs\u0101, except that there will be no prophet after me.<\/p>\n
Hadith al-Manzilah has been transmitted in numerous Shi\u02bfa and Sunni sources, including \u1e62a\u1e25\u012b\u1e25 al-Bukh\u0101r\u012b and \u1e62a\u1e25\u012b\u1e25 Muslim. The most famous context of its utterance goes back to the Battle of Tab\u016bk; however, reports of the expression of this meaning on other occasions, such as the pact of brotherhood, the events of Khaybar, and the incident of closing the doors, have also been mentioned in hadith and historical sources. Im\u0101m\u012b scholars regard this hadith as one of the important proofs for the special position, virtue, and succession of Am\u012br al-Mu\u02bemin\u012bn \u02bfAl\u012b (peace be upon him).<\/p>\n
In the original structure of \u02bfAbaq\u0101t al-Anw\u0101r, the discussion of Hadith al-Manzilah is the second volume of the Second Manhaj of the book; however, the number six in the present publication indicates the order of publication of the Urdu translation of \u201cN\u016br al-Anw\u0101r.\u201d This difference in numbering is because the sections of \u02bfAbaq\u0101t in the Urdu collection have not been published according to the original order of the book.<\/p>\n
The publication of this volume, in addition to introducing another important section of \u02bfAbaq\u0101t al-Anw\u0101r to Urdu-speaking audiences, demonstrates the continued attention of institutions and researchers of the Indian subcontinent to the scholarly heritage of Allamah M\u012br \u1e24\u0101mid \u1e24usayn; a heritage which, after more than a century, continues to be translated, researched, and republished in the scholarly, doctrinal, and cultural sphere of the Shi\u02bfa world.<\/p>\n
\nThis book is not among the productions or revived works of the International Congress for the Commemoration of Allamah M\u012br \u1e24\u0101mid \u1e24usayn, and has been independently published in India; nevertheless, due to its direct connection with \u02bfAbaq\u0101t al-Anw\u0101r and the scholarly heritage of the author of \u02bfAbaq\u0101t, its publication is taken into consideration within the framework of introducing activities and efforts related to Allamah M\u012br \u1e24\u0101mid \u1e24usayn.<\/p>\n
