Grand Ayatollah Yathrebi (may God preserve him): Reviving the legacy of Allama Mir Hamid Hussain is reviving the cause of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him.

چکیده: Members of the Secretariat of the International Congress commemorating Allama Mir Hamid Hussain Lucknowi (may God have mercy on him) met and conversed with Ayatollah Mir Sayyid Muhammad Yathrebi (may his shadow endure).

Grand Ayatollah Yathrebi (may God preserve him): Reviving the legacy of Allama Mir Hamid Hussain is reviving the cause of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him.
According to the Secretariat of the International Congress, Ayatollah Yathrebi, in his meeting with active members of the Congress, considered the revival of the personality and works of this great Shiite scholar aligned with reviving the cause of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, and regarded it as highly rewarding.

In this meeting, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Dr. Sobhani, President of the International Congress, provided a report on the Secretariat’s activities, and while referring to the scholarly greatness and sincerity of Allama Lucknowi (RA) in defending the doctrine of Wilaya, he stated:

“Today, after 150 years, and despite our vast human resources and technology, we have only with great difficulty managed to collect and prepare his works; yet he, in exile and with very limited means, accomplished a tremendous task that is truly miraculous.”

He added:
“Although some senior scholars have made efforts in this direction, until recently, the personality and works of Allama Mir Hamid Hussain were unknown to the seminaries. Today, reviving this great heritage is the revival of the Shiite scientific and historical identity in the Indian subcontinent.”

The head of the International Imamate Foundation, referring to the education of Imamate-related subjects in recent years, noted:

“When we began the official teaching of Imamate topics, the number of experts in this field was fewer than the fingers on one hand. But today, over 70 skilled instructors across the country are training the new generation. This success is the result of a wise strategy and continuous effort.”

Later, Ayatollah Yathrebi (may his shadow endure), while praising the Congress’s programs — including the revival of Abaqat al-Anwar, extraction of reference sources, production of scholarly articles, biography writing, and educational courses related to the Allama — said:

“God has chosen you for this great path and granted you the success to walk in the way of reviving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them. We, too, within our capacity, are by your side and will spare no support for advancing this great scholarly movement.”

In conclusion, Ayatollah Yathrebi emphasized that reviving personalities such as Allama Mir Hamid Hussain is essential to preserving the Shiite scientific identity, and added:

“As stated in narrations — May God have mercy on the one who revives our cause — keeping alive the name and remembrance of these greats is a clear manifestation of reviving the cause of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and God willing, it will receive special divine attention.”

Re-examining the “Manhaj of the Verses” in ʿAbaqāt al-Anwār

Among the different sections of ʿAbaqāt al-Anwār, its “First Manhaj” holds a fundamental position in explaining the question of Imamate. This section, commonly known by the title “Verses,” may at first appear to be devoted solely to examining the verses that indicate Imamate; however, a more careful study of the structure of ʿAbaqāt shows that this understanding is incomplete and, to some extent, incorrect.

Re-examining “Hadith al-Ghadir” in ʿAbaqāt al-Anwār

Among the textual proofs related to the question of Imamate, Hadith al-Ghadir holds a special position. This hadith, which has been transmitted with the well-known wording, “Whoever I am his mawla, then this ʿAlī is his mawla,” is among the traditions that have received extensive attention from Muslim scholars throughout history. However, a comprehensive and methodical examination of this hadith requires extensive investigation across various sources and a precise analysis of both its chain of transmission and its indication.

Re-examining “Hadith al-Wilayah” in ʿAbaqāt al-Anwār

The examination of “Hadith al-Wilayah” in ʿAbaqāt al-Anwār is a clear example of Allamah Mīr Ḥāmid Ḥusayn’s scholarly methodology; a methodology in which extensive investigation, precise analysis of chains of transmission, and multilayered analysis of indication are brought together.
